This paper aim to explain and highlight the long history of African-American culture with correlation to communication storytelling theory. The objective of this paper is to raise people's awareness of black culture and the ways that people of colour tell their stories and call for equality for their people through music, films, fashion, and sports. Using Storytelling Theory and content analysis as a method to analyse seven components of African- American culture that is prominent in the United States. Given the limited options that regular citizens have and the significance of storytelling for the marginalised community, culture is one of the easily accessible means for everyone to share their stories and fight discrimination. Currently, there are a lot of subliminal messages in popular culture and art that serve as activism so that everyone can take part in the fight.
