The existence of social media has built a digital society. Because of social media, users can freely
give responses and opinions to form a discourse called public opinion. This study aims to examine
public opinion formed from Bintang Emon's Stand Up Comedy content in the SOMASI program.
Researcher use a theoretical framework such as political satire, public opinion, media framing, and
social media. Researcher also utilize qualitative research methods with case studies. Research
findings will be analyzed using framing analysis techniques from Robert N. Entman. The results
of the study show that Bintang Emon's political satire has succeeded in triggering an emotional
response from Youtube users to express their opinions. The public opinion that was formed
consisted of positive statements or pro with Bintang Emon as well as negative sentiment or that
contra with the satire. The dynamics of those public opinion are influenced by social media
framing. From the results of this study, we conclude that public opinion can be stimulated by
political satirical content which published by social media.
