This article identifies the uses and gratification of audiences who watch medical drama shows, particularly Grey?s
Anatomy. As the longest-running medical drama series, Grey?s Anatomy has become an essential part of the
television show world, particularly in the medical drama genre. The COVID-19 pandemic has left a more
significant need for entertainment, especially from television shows and movies, since they are relatively easy to
access, even from home. Utilising the typologies of audiences? consumption motives in the uses and gratification
concept, this study aims to explain the case of Grey?s Anatomy, a medical series that depicts the global pandemic
and focuses solely on the virus, with sides of the reality as health workers during the pandemic. The uses and
gratifications typologies divided into four categories: diversion, personal relationships, personal identity, and
surveillance. The article argues that the viewers of Grey?s Anatomy use the medical drama to satisfy their
entertainment needs and seek fulfilment
