This research is situated in the context where the influence of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) and the idols serving as cultural ambassadors of the country are changing conventional attractiveness standards across the globe. By applying Stuart Hall's theory of representation and establishing connections with the dissemination of Korean beauty products in the Indonesian market, this article examines the messages within the ads of these idols which may influence the reframing the concept of conventional beauty in the Indonesia. The research focuses on three local products that use K-Pop idols to represent the ideal beauty: Cha Eun-woo as the ambassador for MS Glow, Han So Hee who represents Somethinc, and TWICE who is supporting Scarlett Whitening. The main argument asserts that the aesthetic appeal of these idols, serving as brand representatives, conveys messages that have the potential to alter Indonesian beauty standards. The study is conducted through descriptive qualitative observation of the three mentioned product advertisements on Instagram. Findings and discussions reveal the intricate relationship between media representation, brand endorsements, and the potential for changing beauty standards embraced by social media users who are fans of these idols.
